Introducing Our New Clinical Therapist: Nikita Tracy, LCSW

At Rooted Survivors Therapy, we believe the right therapeutic relationship can make room for the parts of you that have been carrying too much for too long.
Today, we are honored to introduce Nikita Tracy, LCSW, our new Clinical Therapist and Oklahoma Clinician.
Nikita provides virtual, trauma-informed therapy to clients throughout Oklahoma. Her work supports children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, PTSD, grief, relationship challenges, burnout, depression, and the lasting effects of trauma.
Her style is compassionate and direct. Practical and honest. Warm without being vague. Nikita understands that therapy should not be a performance, and you should not have to spend every session translating your life for someone who does not understand the weight you are carrying.
Meet Nikita Tracy, LCSW
You may be the person everyone calls when life falls apart.
You may be the one who knows what to do in an emergency, how to stay calm under pressure, and how to keep moving when everyone else is overwhelmed. You may have learned to compartmentalize, push through, make a joke, answer the next call, and deal with your own feelings later.
Sometimes, “later” becomes years.
The mindset that helps you survive at work can make it difficult to rest when you are home. Your body may still feel braced for impact even when the room is quiet. You may be exhausted but unable to sleep, emotionally numb around people you love, quick to anger, or constantly scanning for what could go wrong next.
We can hear the question underneath all of that:
“Why am I struggling now when I have handled so much before?”
Nikita brings a grounded understanding of how stress and trauma can affect the mind, body, relationships, and sense of safety. Through virtual therapy in Oklahoma, she works collaboratively with clients to understand what is happening beneath the surface and identify what support may be most useful now.

Who Nikita Supports
Nikita works with individuals across Oklahoma, including children, adolescents, and adults. Her approach is individualized because your history, nervous system, relationships, and goals are uniquely yours.
She offers support for concerns such as:
Anxiety, worry, overthinking, and feeling constantly on guard
PTSD and the effects of critical incidents or ongoing stress
Depression, emotional numbness, low motivation, and disconnection
Grief and the many forms of loss that can change how life feels
Relationship struggles, communication challenges, and difficulty feeling present
Burnout, cumulative stress, and compassion fatigue
Trauma-related changes in trust, identity, boundaries, and self-worth
Feeling disconnected from yourself or unsure how to move forward
Nikita is especially passionate about supporting first responders, veterans, and other trauma-exposed professionals. This includes law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs, dispatchers, corrections officers, and others whose work brings them into repeated contact with crisis, danger, loss, or human suffering.
For some professionals, the difficult part is not one single event. It is the accumulation: the call after the call, the scene after the scene, the responsibility that follows you home even when no one else can see it.
For others, the struggle may involve moral injury: the distress that can arise when what happened, what was required, or what you were unable to change conflicts with your deeply held values. These experiences can affect sleep, mood, relationships, concentration, and your sense of who you are outside of work.
If you are looking for trauma therapy in Oklahoma, Nikita offers a space to begin examining those experiences carefully and at a pace that respects your capacity.
A Professional Background Shaped by Complex Trauma
Before becoming a therapist, Nikita worked in child protective services investigating child fatalities, severe abuse, and neglect. She also supported individuals and families impacted by domestic violence and other complex trauma.
These experiences shaped her understanding of how trauma can reach into every part of a person’s life. Trauma may influence the way you sleep, the way you respond to conflict, the way you relate to people you love, and the way your body responds to reminders of the past.
It can change the volume of your internal alarm system.
A sound, smell, conversation, or shift in someone’s tone may cause your nervous system to react before your conscious mind has time to catch up. You may experience hypervigilance, emotional shutdown, intrusive memories, irritability, or dissociation. You may understand intellectually that you are safe while still feeling unsafe in your body.
Nikita approaches these responses with respect and curiosity. Her professional background informs her work, but she also recognizes that every survivor’s story is personal. No two people experience trauma in exactly the same way, and no single explanation can capture the whole of your life.
Therapy is where your individual story remains at the center.
Nikita’s Therapy Style: Direct, Practical, and Collaborative
Nikita’s approach is compassionate, direct, practical, honest, trauma-informed, and collaborative.
That means she will meet you with care while also helping you look clearly at the patterns that may be keeping you stuck. She will not reduce your experiences to a label or offer surface-level advice that does not fit the realities of your life.
If you are thinking, “I have tried therapy before, and I do not want to spend another hour just talking in circles,” we understand.
Nikita’s work focuses on helping you:
Better understand your thoughts, emotions, and reactions
Develop coping skills that fit your actual life and responsibilities
Notice how trauma may be affecting your mind, body, relationships, and choices
Build greater emotional awareness and regulation
Work through anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress
Identify patterns that no longer serve you
Create meaningful change without pretending the process is simple
Depending on your goals and clinical needs, Rooted Survivors Therapy offers a range of evidence-informed services, including individual therapy, anxiety therapy, depression therapy, and trauma-informed therapy.
The work is not about forcing you to disclose everything at once. It is about building enough safety and trust to understand what you need, what you are ready for, and what next step makes sense.
What You Can Expect in Therapy With Nikita
Therapy is a partnership. You and Nikita can discuss your goals, your questions, your pace, and the kind of support that feels appropriate for you.
You do not need to arrive with the perfect explanation. You do not need to have your story organized in neat chronological order. You can begin with what is most present:
“I cannot sleep.”
“I do not feel like myself anymore.”
“I am angry all the time.”
“I keep replaying what happened.”
“I am struggling at home after holding everything together at work.”
“I want help, but I do not know where to start.”
From there, you can work together to identify the concerns that matter most. The pace can be discussed. The goals can change. The approach can be adjusted as you learn more about what supports your healing and what leaves you feeling overwhelmed.
Nikita’s role is not to take control of your story. It is to walk alongside you as you build a clearer understanding of yourself and decide what meaningful change looks like.
You Do Not Have to Carry Everything Alone
You have spent your life protecting everyone else.
You have shown up for the call, the crisis, the family member, the team, and the people who needed you most. You may have learned to keep your own needs tucked away because there was always something more urgent in front of you.
But your pain deserves attention, too.
You’ve spent your life protecting everyone else. It’s okay to let someone help protect you for a change.
