Meet Lauren, Experienced Therapist Working with Clients in California and Oklahoma
My work as a therapist has been shaped by more than a decade of supporting people through trauma, relationship challenges, and intense emotional experiences. I began my career in crisis and community mental health settings, working with teens and adults navigating severe mental illness, mood disorders, and high-risk situations. Those early years taught me how to stay present, calm, and effective in moments when clients felt overwhelmed or hopeless.
As my career grew, I became increasingly drawn to trauma work and the complex dynamics of family violence. While working in county mental health and later with military families through the Family Advocacy Program, I gained extensive experience supporting survivors of intimate partner violence. Rebuilding safety, and navigating the intersection of trauma, accountability, and family systems. This period of my career shaped my voice as a clinician. One that is direct, grounded, and deeply compassionate.
In 2020, I became an EMDR certified therapist, which allowed me to support clients in processing trauma at a deeper and more transformative level. Alongside EMDR, DBT has remained a core piece of my work. I have facilitated DBT skills groups, provided DBT trainings to clinicians, and used these tools extensively with clients working to regulate emotions, set boundaries, and build healthier patterns.
Over the years, I continue to support developing therapists in trauma-informed care, risk assessment, and ethical decision-making as a Clinical Supervisor. Supporting other clinicians has deepened my dedication to being clear, attuned, and grounded in what truly works for clients.
Today, in my private practice and ongoing supervisory work, I integrate EMDR, DBT, CBT, and relational therapies to help clients heal from trauma, navigate difficult relationships, and build a more stable and empowered sense of self. My goal is to create a space where people feel safe, supported, and capable of meaningful change. No matter what they have lived through.
